Lovely example of these beautiful decorative floral covers. Manson Lescaut by Abbe Provost. Published by Henry Altemus 1899. This book is a member of the banned book club and was banned in France when it was first published due to immorality. Bound in grey cloth with a cranberry and cream floral design on cover and spine with gold gilt. Minor bumping to corners and top and bottom of spine. Minimal soiling to cover and spine. Very little flaking to design on cover and spine. Binding tight. Pages clean and bright. Small sticker on inside front cover. Lovely color plate of Victorian ladies on frontispiece. A lovely book overall. Near fine condition. Please note that this is a vintage item and will show its age.
