First Edition The Keeper of the Bees with Blue Floral Cover

Lovely blue first edtion of The Keeper of the Bees by Gene Stratton-Porter. Published by Doubleday, Page & Co 1925. Illustration of bees and delphiniums on the front cover and spine. Scarce, hard to find edition. Front boards and back boards in very good shape with minimal soiling and fading. Minor bumping and rubbing to corners and edges consistent with shelf wear and age of the book. Spine shows fading and soiling but illustration, title and author’s name are still in very good condition. First 10 or so pages are all beautifully illustrated with lush, blue line drawings. Full color frontispiece facing a title page full of blue line illustrations of delphiniums and bees. Several full color illustrations throughout the book. Back endpapers have matching line illustrations. Binding tight. Pages clean with minor toning. Overall very good vintage condition. Please note that this is a vintage book and will show its age.
